Los Angeles, CA – A new study shows blogging by teenagers and young adults has dropped by half over the past three years as they turn instead to texting and social networking sites such as Facebook.
“But we’ve embraced the technology!” argued one news caster. “I mean, we even include blogging information even though it has little to no news value what-so-ever! How could they just leave us like this? Now what fluff technological stuff can we legitimize? Hey, Twitter!”
“Yeah, Facebook is cool, but it’s kinda lame, ya know?” posted a teen on his forum. “I mean, if everyone is putting their stuff online then why should I? Seems kinda stupid to follow the herd. Anyway, post up your thoughts on emerging technologies! LOL!”
The Center for Joy and Happiness called the decrease “logical”, “we were wondering what was making people happier. This lines up with the decline of conservative talk radio in the early 2000s which lead to a joy factor of twelve!” and “umm, don’t repeat that. Trade secret.”
“So teens are giving up on the internet,” said Federal Tween and Teen Control Agent Fredrick Thomas Mien. “Bring Research and Development in here, we need new ideas on how to keep these hoodlums sedate and under control. In the mean time, release a new video phone as a stop-gap. That should buy us a few months.”
