Toronto, Canada – A new study suggests most Americans believe God is involved in their everyday lives and concerned with their personal well-being, though the well-educated and higher earners are less likely than their counterparts to believe in such divine intervention.
“If I didn’t have God reminding me to love my children or to drive on the right side of the road, why I’d be a child-killing road-hog,” said a loving mother of two. “Thankfully, the voice of God in my head keeps me from these brutally violent urges and for that I give thanks everyday. As well as a small bird sacrifice.”
“Really?” said a shocked priest. “You’d figure that most Americans would have realized the whole thing’s a money scam and moved on. So people are personally communing with God? We can’t let that happen! From now on it’s a sin to worship outside of Church. Get in here, now! Yep, I still got it.”
Several Angels went on record saying “you gotta give props to the Big Guy”, “sure, he’s all powerful, but he gets a little depressed if ya snub him all the time” and “just don’t overdo it, like basketball players. He hates that so much. Oops, time to fly!”
“We have no use for God,” said a scientist. “I’m sure you have a few hundred different ways to prove me wrong, but I don’t care. See these crossed arms? That means I’m not open to anything else you have to say. Good day.”
