Athens, Greece – The burnt out shells of at least forty five buildings in central Athens were still smoldering this morning after a weekend of angry protests reached its apex on Sunday night.
“The thing is, we want to keep getting money from the EU whilst never paying taxes and not working,” said a top Greek official. “Why can’t that happen? Oh yeah? Well, maybe you’re the one with a childish view of the world!” He then took off his jacket, lit it on fire and threw it on the ground whilst shouting, “freeeeee!”
“We’re sick of bailing them out!” shouted an EU representative. “We won’t do it ever again.” After a short pause he admitted, “except for this time, the next time, the time after that, the time after that, the time after that, the time after that, the time after that, the time after that and then the time after that. That’s it.”
Canada chimed in with “we know you don’t wanna hear from us”, “maybe you should sell some of their lands to financially secure nations” and “well, if you’re worried about legality, you sure have no right to tell a sovereign nation how to run it’s finances. Now, about that land.”
“When are people going to learn: never trust the Greeks,” said an American. “Haven’t you seen My Big Fat Greek Wedding?” After a long pause he added, “cause I haven’t.”
